Hearts of Oak parts company with Mohammed Alhassan after termination of defender contract
The Management of Hearts of Oak have terminated their contract with the veteran centre-back after four years.
Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have ended their contract with Mohammed Alhassan after four seasons at the club.
Alhassan joined Hearts of Oak on a free transfer in 2018 from West African Football Academy (WAFA) and aided the club to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title and two FA Cup trophies.
A portion of the club’s letter to Mohammed Alhassan and his representatives reads “With reference to the mutual termination of the employment contract agreement between the player (Mohammed Alhassan) and the club; The player is free to join any club of his choice,”
The 30-year-old defender had a year left on his contract at the Rainbow club.
Alhassan was part of the Ghana home-based national team that eliminated Benin and Nigeria to secure qualification to the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.
However, he didn’t make the final squad for the tournament which is scheduled to commence later this month in Algeria.

Mohammed Alhassan has been linked to Hearts of Oak rivals Asante Kotoko ahead of the January transfer window with the defending champions hoping to strengthen the defense.
The Porcupine Warriors have also been linked with Yves Yao from Ivory Coast with the right-back already beginning training with the Kumasi based side. While they have eyes on the Ivorian International, Mohammed Alhassan deal is one they have sight on and they now have their destiny in their own hands after the central defender becoming a free man.
Alhassan is believed has shown interest in joining Asante Kotoko and have instructed his reps to welcome Asante Kotoko call for his signature.
