Ash Gold complete signing of John Josiah Andah from Berekum Chelsea on 5-year deal
Ash Gold have confirmed the signing of Berekum Chelsea midfielder Johnson Josiah Andah on a five year deal.
The Obuasi based side failed to lift the Ghana Premier League last season after placing mid-position in a season won the league title by Hearts of Oak.
Ash Gold struggled at the beginning of the season before fighting very well during the later stages of the league campaign but only ended in 9th position.
They redeemed their image in the FA Cup after playing in the final only losing on penalties to Hearts of Oak who represent Ghana in the Caf Champions League.
Ash Gold’s season was further hit with bad news after the Ghana Football Association hit them with match fixing charges in their 7-0 Ghana Premier League victory over Inter Allies in July.
The Ghana’s football governing body later incurred a traveling ban on both Ash Gold and Inter Allies which means no official or players of the two clubs can travel or be transferred until after final investigations are completed.
“The General Public and all Stakeholders are to note that until investigations are over, the Ghana Football Association will not approve the issuance of any International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and introductory letter to any Embassy for visas for any of the persons under investigation.” the FA said in a statement via GhanaGuardian.
Solving their problems in order to enjoy a smooth next season is signing of quality players. The newly signed players will at least help Ash Gold build a very good team to avoid finding themselves in another match fixing situation.
They have already began the transfer activities after announcing deals for former Ghana U-20 International Kennedy Ashia, Joseph Amoah, three year deal for Abdul Salam and Aminu Adams from Kintampo Royals.
The latest player to be added to their ranks is Johnson Josiah Andah from Berekum Chelsea.

Ash Gold begin their 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League campaign with a visit to Techiman to face Eleven Wonders.
Meanwhile, Ash Gold Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has criticized the charges leveled against his team for match fixing.
He says that the ban handed his team is a bad one because the 7-0 score line- that brought about the controversy- is a possible one in football. He states that if any player involved in the match fixing is to blame, it should be Inter Allies defender Musah who appeared a bit unprofessional to deliberately score an own goal.
‘We have not done anything bad because we always beat people 4-0, 5-0 or 5-4,” Ashanti Gold president Kwaku Frimpong told BBC Sport Africa via GhanaWeb.
“We beat them five and their defender [Musah] scored two himself. I think they have to put the blame on the guy who scored himself because it’s unprecedented.
“So why do we have to blame Ashanti Gold? This is jealousy and they just want to destroy my name. I have not talked to any president or any club. We have done nothing.”
Ghana’s Football Association (GFA) will adjudicate the cases after requesting statements of defence, all of which are expected to have been received by Monday 27 September
“Our football has been attacked by faceless cowards,” GFA boss Okraku said last month. “It is my responsibility and that of the executive council to defend the passion of the nation.
“Everybody who has played a part [in match-fixing relating to betting] will face it.”
