Playing in cup finals is never easy task despite the positive aspect of standing the chance of winning a glory. Hearts of Oak have qualified to their second straight FA Cup finals and Afriyie Barnieh like other Hearts players will experienced the above development.

The defending league champions defeated Ash Gold on penalties to lift last season’s title and will face either Bechem United or Aduana Stars in this season’s final. Barnieh has made a sensational statement about the upcoming final.

The forward has stated playing finals is something that has been part of him since he started his career but admitted they will have to win or won’t be anything extraordinary.

He made these comments after helping Hearts of Oak reach their second straight final in the FA Cup after beating Dreams FC by 3-2 last Saturday in the capital.

The 21 year old has been stellar recently, having netted four goals in his last four matches for the ‘Phobians’ and has strongly being linked with a call up to the Black Stars ahead of the upcoming 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Speaking after the game, the former Black Satellites skipper has stated he is used and known to playing finals but added is not anything extraordinary until you win the trophy which is the most important thing. He said;
“It is great for me because if you’ve realized or like studied me I always go to final in every tournament that I involve myself.”
“Being at the final at this time is not anything extraordinary but if I win the cup then I will say repeating or taking the cup back-to-back will be something different in my life. Going to the final is not anything extraordinary.”
Hearts of Oak have enjoyed a smooth campaign in the domestic cup but somehow have struggled in the Ghana Premier League. Should they win the FA Cup, Hearts will represent Ghana in the African Confederation Cup.
