Italian clubs send representatives to Ghana to scout for talents in ArthurLegacy Invitational tournament

Scouts from the Italian clubs Napoli, Atalanta, Sassuolo, Torino, Genoa, Spezia, Cremonese, Pisa, as well as the Romanian club CFR 1907 Cluj, have arrived in Ghana to assess the football talents at the ArthurLegacy Sports Invitational tournament.

The ArthurLegacy Invitational Tournament will be held at the Adjiringanor Astro-turf park on Tuesday, April 26th and Sunday, April 28th. Young footballers from 18 teams will test their strengths against each other for a possible move abroad to start their professional careers.

Special guests include Italian Ambassador Daniela d’Orlandi and Hon Mustapha Yussif, Minister of Youth and Sports. They are set to open and close the tournament, respectively.

Italy’s deputy head of mission will be present on the second day. The Italian scouts will pay the Italian ambassador a courtesy visit at the embassy in Accra.

Performances of young Ghanaian players such as Salim Abubakar (Sassuolo U19), Ebenezer Annan (Bologna U19), Sulemana Kakari (Hellas Verona U19), and Felix Afena Ohene-Gyan (Roma) in Italy are major pull factors in these clubs’ decision to find the next big star here in Ghana.
