Khama Billiat close to returning to full fitness after long sideline due to hamstring injury

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the potential return of star man Khama Billiat following the Zimbabwean’s begging of light training.

South giants Kaizer Chiefs have gone five games without their star man Khama Billiat in action after Billiat sustained hamstring injury in their 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United in December last year.

Chiefs have been remarkably in the ABSA Premiership this season maintaining the top spot in the title race since the sideline of their super star.

They will now feel a happy side and knee continuing their fine form in the league as Khama Billiat nears full return to the pitch.

Billiat, Zimbabwean, has started light training which is a major boost for his full return to fire Amakhosi to their 13th League Championship title but their first in five years since 2014-2020 season.

“The good news is that Billiat has started light training with the team and early indications lead to a potential return to full training in the near future,” read a statement from the club.

“Thereafter, the player will be assessed for match fitness.”

Kaizer Chiefs welcome Eagle Royals home for the Nedbank Cup round 32 next weekend and Billiat is expected to play a big  in that game.
