Manchester United are preparing world record swoop for Napoli ace Kalidou Koulibaly in summer just days after the close of the January transfer window

MANCHESTER UNITED are reported considering to swoop Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli in deal that will make Koulibaly the most expensive defender in the world if the deal is completed in the summer transfer window.

The Manchester club failed to submit an official bid to Napoli this January despite their ever-reported interest in signing the Senegalese from the beginning of the season.

However, United managed to land former Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, Nathan Bishop and Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in the just ended transfer window.

It’s claimed that Manchester United are preparing for the summer transfer window where they have penciled couple of players down.

And according to the Mirror Sport, Manchester United have Kalidou Koulibaly as a top transfer target as they are still keeping tabs on the Senegalese despite the closure of the January window few days ago.

United knee on making him the most expensive defender in the world which means they are ready break their own record of signing Harry Maguire for the most expensive defender in the world after completing  £80million deal for the English International from Leicester City last summer.

According to reports, Manchester are willing to meet Napoli’s £90million valuation placed on Koulibaly and the Premier League side have to fight off competition from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Real Madrid for the Senegalese’s signature.
