Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo praises GFA for cancellation of season in phase of coronavirus pandemic

The Ghana Football Association announced cancellation of the 2019-2020 season last Tuesday due to coronavirus pandemic after its Executive Council hold a marathon meeting.

And Hearts of Oak former player Mohammed Polo has praised Ghana’s football governing body for its latest decision to permanently called off the current season.

“It was clear that the season will be cancelled. I think it’s a laudable idea from the FA,” he said on Bryt FM.

“They should start thinking about the future of the game ones the season has been canceled.

“We have to also know the FA’s plan for next season. Nobody should doubt it because we cannot play while coronavirus persist.”

At the time of temporary suspension, a total of six cases had been recorded. Ghana now has registered 18,134 cases including 117 deaths, 13,550 recoveries and over 4,467 active cases.

The GFA will hold a subsequent meeting to take decision on the future of Ghana football.
