Black Stars face African champions Algeria in Pre-Afcon friendly in Doha plus probable lineups

Ghana will face African champions, Algeria in an epic international friendly this evening at the Educational City Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

This encounter will serve as a preparatory friendly for the two nations who are currently preparing for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which will commence this weekend in Cameroon.

The Black Stars moved to the Asian country a week ago for a training tour as usual whiles the Desert Foxes have been there since early last month.

Coach Milovan Rajevac is gradually assembling a full house for the big tournament following the arrival of integral members like skipper Andre Ayew, Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, Jordan Ayew, Iddrisu Baba and first choice goalie Jojo Wollacott, who will all be available for selection in the game today.

The four time African conquerors are drawn in Group C alongside Gabon, Comoros and the Atlas Lions of Morocco.

On the opposition end, the African conquerors extended their superiority just last month after annexing the 10th edition of the FIFA Arab Cup held in the same country where they humbled Tunisia in the final despite being without most of their key players.

They are also placed in Group E of the AFCON and will start their title defence against Sierra Leone before they take on Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana emerged victorious the last time both nations met in the 2015 AFCON at the Stade de Mongomo- a win which was propelled by a 92nd minute strike from Asamoah Gyan.

Both teams will depart to Cameroon on Friday, January 7, 2022 for the highly-anticipated tournament.
