Ghana Women’s Premier League champions Hasaacas Ladies receive GFA support ahead of Caf Women’s Champions League opener against Malabo Kings

Hasaacas Ladies take on Malabo Kings in the maiden Caf Women’s Champions League and the Ghanaian champions have received support from the country Football Association.

They have been given a strength cash $10,000 ahead of the tournament taking place in Egypt. It is part of the GFA’s attempt to strength its clubs in continental football for clubs to compete very well.

Ghanaian clubs in Caf Inter club football have not been a convincing journey with clubs struggling to enter into money zone of the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup.

It was in 2012 that Berekum Chelsea played the group stages of the Champions League after failing to qualify to the quart-finals.

In 2018, Asante Kotoko managed to play the group stages of the Caf Confederation after crushing out Cameroonian side Coton Sport in the play-off.

With Ghanaian club’s attempt into the money zone become narrow to due poor multi-facet problems but finance is a major driven force, the GFA have decided to offer financial support to its teams for African club football.

“The Executive Council (EXCO) of the Ghana Football Association(GFA) has resolved to extend a $10,000 cash support to Hasaacas Ladies as the team prepares to make their debut in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions league, GFA statement reads.

“It would be recalled that before the team’s participation in the WAFU B qualifiers, the GFA also offered various support to solidify their preparations for the qualifiers, which Hasaacas Ladies eventually won In Ivory Coast to guarantee a place in the Champions League.

“The GFA is committed to offering various kinds of support to stakeholders of the game to ensure success in all endeavors.

Hasaacas Ladies have arrived in Cairo and will take on Malabo Kings FC in their first Women’s Champions league game on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the 30 June Stadium.

“The GFA wishes the team best of luck in the quest to conquer Africa in the maiden edition of the champions League.

“The GFA also calls on all Ghanaians to support and pray for the success of the team.

Hasaacas Ladies continue to receive many supports from Ghanaians as Women’s League Committee issue another top level of support after sending the Ghana Women’s Premier League champions goodwill massage through the GFA official website.

“Women’s Premier League Management Committee (WPLMC) and all Women’s football clubs in Ghana have sent sporting compliments, best wishes and goodwill messages to Hasaacas Ladies FC as the WAFU B champions begin their quest to conquer Africa, a preamble of the message reads.

“Having achieved a rare double feat in the 2021 season and going on to conquer the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, there is no doubt that you are capable of extending your dominance to the entire continent.

“The WPLMC, on behalf of the GFA and all Women’s football clubs, believes that you have what it takes technically and both in experience and exposure to go all the way and is thus backing you to give it your best shot”, the message stated.

“All eight teams contesting are Champions in their own right, but remember, to be the best you will have to beat the toughest opposition and you have what it takes to achieve that.

“Remember that in Cairo, you are not only chasing your individual dreams and collective aspirations, but you represent the hope of the entire nation.

“Your achievement will be a reflection of women’s football in Ghana and by extension, WAFU Zone B, which you deservedly and proudly represent in Cairo”.

“That is why you have the WPLMC and the GFA’s unflinching support all through the competition.

As you play, play tough but fair, knowing that the entire football family in Ghana will be praying to back you to attain the ultimate aim of returning home with the coveted trophy. Good luck”
