Kudus Mohammed open to Premier League move amid interest from Barcelona

Ghana World Cup star Kudus Mohammed has set his eyes on a move to the English Premier League after Barcelona entering the race for the forward’s signature, according to reports.

The Laliga side join several Premier League sides for Kudus Mohammed ahead of a summer move with Tottenham Hotspur previously failing to capture the Ajax man.

Last summer, Everton were also interested and Tottenham reportedly sent scouts to watch Kudus Mohammed in Ajax’s preseason in attempt to add the 23-year old to Antonio Conte’s attacking lines but a deal failed to materialized.

Since remaining with the Dutch champions, Kudus Mohammed has struck 10 times including 4 in 6 Champions League games. After shining in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the likes of Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have joined the race to lure Kudus Mohammed to the Premier League as leaders Arsenal are said to be favorites for the Ghanaian International.

On Sunday evening, the Sun reported that Barcelona have joined a hosts of Premier League clubs interested in Kudus but the Ajax man is open to Premier League move in summer.

It’s understood that the Ghanaian has told close friends that he may want to join a Premier League club but for a Champions League football next season putting Arsenal and Tottenham on red alert.

Arsenal lead the Premier League table and in bid to win their first title since 2004 under Asene Wenger. If Mikel Arteta’s side win the league they will secure Champions League slot for next term which brighthens their chances to win the battle for Kudus Mohammed.

Tottenham are also in the race for a top four finish which fits them well for making a move for Kudus Mohammed.

Barcelona’s chances of signing Kudus Mohammed may somehow depend on lack of Champions League football from Premier League clubs. Barcelona who sit second place in Laliga will book a place in next season’s European top flight football.

Barcelona are reportedly tracking a hosts of players including Kudus Mohammed in the summer. With Kudus preferring a move to the Premier League, Barca may be forced to look Kudus alternatives.

Ajax will reportedly prize the Ghanaian around 40million pounds with Arsenal willing to bring Kudus to London. The Ajax forward may reunite with national teammate Thomas Partey at the Gunners.
