Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Sassi receives six matches ban punishment for misconduct against Al Masry

Zamalek star midfielder Ferjani Sassi has been handed a heavy punishment for his misconduct in the Whites latest league fixture against Al Masry, as he was suspended for six matches.

Zamalek had achieved a narrow 1-0 win over Al Masry in the Egyptian Premier League under the guidance of new manager Jaime Pacheco.

Zamalek were dealt a blow as Tunisia international, Ferjani Sassi, was given two consecutive yellow cards after fouling a player and attacking the referee.

There was also high tension between the players of the two teams following the game with Zamalek midfielder Imam Ashour also involved.

The Egyptian Football Association have decided to ban Sassi for six games and fining him 100K EGP. The decision was communicated to Zamalek.

Meanwhile, Ashour was also suspended for one game and fined 50K EGP after he provoked Al Masry players after the match which led to a brawl between the players from the two sides.

The White Knights have reached the Egypt Cup quarterfinal on Monday after beating Smouha 2-1.
