It was a moment of turn-around for Spezia at the Stadio San Paolo returning to winning ways from 7-game winless run.

The turn-around was done in style after coming from a goal down to beat Napoli in their own back yard on Wednesday evening but the latest victory was most inspired by Ghana International Emmanuel Gyan who only joined the game mid-way.

Spezia had lost all three consecutive Seria A games before meeting Napoli whiles Gennaro Gattuso’s side were on course of stealing a fourth or fifth place from Juventus or Sassuolo respectively, should Napoli maintained their early second half lead against Spezia.

Andrea Petagna registered the first goal that saw Napoli off Juve by a point at the second half in San Paolo when at the same time, the Seria A champions were also cruising AC Milan 3-1 in San Siro.

But Gyasi’s introduction was a decisive factor for Spezia’s come-back but wasn’t a better thing for Napoli as the Ghanaian forward contributed massively in somehow the surprise score line on the night.

M’bala Nzola made no mistake from the spot to send the away side on level pegging as Napoli began losing grip on fourth and fifth spots.

Despite being numerically disadvantaged when Ardian Ismajli was shown the exit door from a red card 13’ minutes to full time, Gyasi played a key role in Spezia second goal to complete breaking Napoli’s heart with the 2-1 fight-back.

Gyasi’s lobbed pass was met by Nzola whose strike hit the post before Pobega fired in for the win. Spezia will now host Sampdoria on Monday night football.
