Yeni Malatyaspor confirm several ‘offers on the table’ for Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah

Afriyie Acquah could return to Italy for a second time after Yeni Malatyaspor confirming many offers on the table for the Ghanaian International.

Acquah, 28, sealed a move from the Seria A with Empoli in sight to the Turkish Super Lig back in June last year following the willingness of Empoli to let the Black Stars midfielder leave for free without extending his contract after expiration.

The hard-working anchor-man has proven beyond reasonable doubt in Turkish top flight league, involving in four goals out of 27 appearances.

Though the stats is definitely not in favor of Acquah but his overall presence in midfield has been a unique figure not only for Malatyaspor but for the league at large.

The Ghanaian ace has been scouted by Turkish elite clubs together with Ligue 1 clubs and those that operate in Italy as revealed by Malatyaspor President.

It appears that Acquah’s Turkish side nearly lost his services to Lecce when he has a years on his contract but the Seria A side failed in a bid to land the Ghanaian International in the January transfer window.

While clubs are simply unable to overlook Acquah’s form this term, Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, Lecce, Torino and Parlemo knee causing the Ghanaian’s departure from the New Malatya Stadium with Italy likely to be his next destination according Malatyaspor President Adil Gevrek.

“There is interest in Gökhan Töre from Beşiktaş and Galatasaray. There is no official transfer offer for Gökhan at the moment. We will not send Gökhan Töre anywhere without a testimonial fee. Yeni Malataspor. We have to think about the interests of the country. There are transfer offers from Italy for Afriyie Acquah”.

Malatyaspor finished 16th on their log with 32 points as they faced relegation this season in what is a big worry for his side.

Malatyaspor’s worries are expected to rise next term when Acquah has left where they would sweating to find ball-winning, physical presence and aggression in midfield.
