Strasbourg name Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris player of the month February
The Black Stars striker Majeed Waris has been crowned the player of the month February award at Strasbourg, beating off competition from Adrien Thomasson and Matz Sels who all have been sensational for the French Ligue side.
Waris has been on fire since completing a loan move from Porto last summer, but in February, the Ghanaian contributed to all three games played, grabbing two goals and registering an assist in the month under review.
The former FC Porto forward came in and grabbed the winner against Toulouse in the French Ligue 1 before finding the target in his first start against Reims, and registered assist in Strasbourg’s draw against Lyon some weeks later.
He secured 29.5% of the total votes cast, close to half what second placed Adrien Thomasson earned.
