Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko have been drawn against San Pedro from Ivory Coast in the play-offs of the 2019-2020 CAF Confederation Cup. Kotoko dropped from the Champions League to the Confederation Cup after losing 3-0 to Tunisian team Etoile du Sahel in Monastir after the Ghanaian side had defeated the Tunisians 2-0 in the first leg in Kumasi.

San Pedro began their African campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup eliminating Santoba in first round of the tournament. The Ivorian side have already gone unbeaten from their previous 2 games in the Confederation Cup, a draw and a win. They have scored 3 goals and conceded none before they take on Kotoko.

Kotoko together with Enyimba, RS Berkane, Gor Mahia and Horoya were placed in Pot A during the draw by CAF whiles San Pedro were in Pot D last Wednesday, and fate brought Kotoko and San Pedro to meet in the play-off stage of this year’s Confederation Cup.

The first leg game between the two sides is scheduled on 27^th October, 2019 in Kumasi before Kotoko return to Felix Houphouet Boigny for the second leg on 3^rd November. Kjetil Zachariassen and his men perhaps can take charge in the Confederation Cup to draw supporters back to their dear club.

Kotoko will be hoping to make the ‘money zone’ for the second successive season, having reached the stage in last term’s championship after beating Cotonsports de Garoua 3-2 in Yaounde and 2-1 in Kumasi.
