RC Kadiogo vs Asante Kotoko confirmed lineups as Mukwala and Mfegue start Caf Champions League

Asante Kotoko are weighing the chances of winning the first leg clash of the African Champions League first preliminary round against Burkina Faso giants RC Kadiago in Beninn.

Ugandan International Steven Mukwala leads Kotoko’s attack as Ghana Premier League champions name a strong XI against RC Kadiogo in Benin. Black Galaxies no.1 Ibrahim Danlad returns to the posts after missing trip to Sudan while Christopher Nettey, Sherif Mohammed, Yussif Mubarik, John Tedeku complete the back line.

Mukwala replaces last season club’s top scorer Franck Thierry Etouga Mbella up front. Mbella who netted 21 Ghana Premier League goals is missing the first leg clash due to injury.

Boss Seydou Zerbo has opted for a three man midfield with Richard Boadu sitting deep, Enock Morrison takes the box-to-box role as Richmond Lamptey deployed in advanced attacking position.

Isaac Oppong and George Mfegue operate from the right and left sides of the pitch with Steven Mukwala playing in center of the three forwards. Mukwala opened the scores against Simba SC in preseason friendly in Sudan.

Mfegue who was a debut for this game due to injury has recovered on time to make his first appearance of the season.

RC Kadiogo have also named a strong XI with the likes of Ben Daouda Nikiema, Cheick Oumar Konseiga, Ferdinand Ouedraogo, Ben Daouda Sidibe, Moumouni Kabore, Aboubacar Sidiki Trore expected to start.
