Ajibade heads Nigeria into WAFCON semi-final, 9th consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup

Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal of the quarter-final clash between Nigeria and Cameroon to send the Super Falcons through to the semi-finals of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, and a record ninth consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup appearance on Thursday.

Nigeria were the dominant side throughout the game making early incursion to break the deadlock but series of aerial dwells lacked the power to beat Cameroon goal-keeper.

Cameroon were not watchers troubling Nigeria a couple of moments but failed to find back of the net. Nigeria needed second half goal from Ajibade to sink Cameroon as the Falcons book semifinals place.

The 22-year old Atlético de Madrid ace, who was left unmarked, head home from the far posts. Tunisia take on South Africa in other fixture this evening.
