Al Ahly bounce back to winning ways after beating Aswan 3-0 as Badji scores in Egyptian Premier League

Al Ahly bounced back to winning ways after beating Aswan 3-0 in the 20th round of the Egyptian Premier League to make a big step in retaining their title.

Just four minutes into the game, Afsha set Geraldo in front of goal. The Angolan winger dribbled Aswan goalkeeper Mosaad Awad and went down but the referee signaled no calls in his favour.

Five minutes later Afsha and Geraldo combined again with Al Ahly playmaker sending a cross on the far post for Geraldo to slot home with a close range header and give the Red Devils the lead.

Al Ahly were hit with a couple of unfortunate injuries in the first half after Mahmoud Metwally and Ahmed El-Sheikh were forced off during the first half, and were replaced by Yasser Ibrahim and Aliou Dieng.

The second half started with Aswan audaciously pushing forward and trying to equalise but their efforts lacked efficiency in the final third.

Al Ahly kept it late until they doubled their lead through Walid Soliman who received a pass from Aliou Badji inside the box and fired into the bottom corner.

In the dying minutes Badji found his way to net after a great backheel pass from Amr El-Sulaya and firing into the far bottom corner to seal the victory.

Al Ahly raised their points tally to 56 points from 20 matches, meanwhile Aswan hold the 13th place with 19 points.
