King Faisal’s Osman Ibrahim warns clubs amid Ghana Premier League title as forward eyes double figure goals

King Faisal talisman Osman Ibrahim has cautioned Ghana Premier League (GPL) rivals to be afraid of his side this season. This means King Faisal could be a candidate to challenge elites Kotoko and Hearts of Oak for this season’s Ghana Premier League trophy.

The Green and Whites have had an incredible start to 2021-2022’s life, winning all three games so far. The started the campaign with a victory over West African Football Academy (WAFA), recorded a surprising 3-1 win at unfavorable Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa to break Aduana’s 46 home unbeaten run before claiming another victory over regional rivals Ash Gold last Sunday.

With 9 points from 3 games, that is enough for clubs to be aware of King Faisal’s rise to prominence after drawing on top same points with Asante Kotoko who have also maintained 100% record after week three.

The Kumasi based side have struggled to climbed to where they belong in Ghana and African football having played in the Caf Confederation Cup group stage in 2005. They placed second with 12 points to leaders FAR Rabat who accumulated 16 points, AS Marsa and Fello Star but only the leaders FAR Rabat progressed to final against Dolphins FC from Nigeria.

King Faisal came back from relegation last two seasons and their poor run of form nearly send them back to Division but fought to escape the bottom in last Ghana Premier League fixtures with a huge impact from top scorer Kwame Peprah who joined Premier Soccer League side Orlando Pirates this summer.

With Peprah departed, King Faisal have stood firm to launch a battle with Asante Kotoko for the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021-2022 season. They have done well than clubs like Hearts of Oak who lifted the ultimate last season, WAFA who placed third, Aduana Stars, Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea.

King Faisal face Berekum Chelsea in their next fixture of the Ghana Premier League and Osman Ibrahim may play crucial role in the game in Golden City Park this weekend. While his warning goes for all other Premier League clubs. Chelea are immediate to test the potency of Osman’s words.

“Things didn’t go on very well last season but trust me, we have a very strong squad now, so all teams should be wary of King Faisal,” he told Haske Radio in Kumasi.

Osman Ibrahim has always been an integral player for King Faisal since his first loan spell at the club last two seasons ago. He netted 10 goals in all competitions before his parent club Asante Kotoko finally lured him back to them.

Having return to Kotoko last season, the Ghana International struggled for more game time but was the first player to open Kotoko scoring in their Caf Confederation cup journey after netting against FC Nouadhibou in Kotoko 1-1 draw in Mauritania.

Osman re-joined King Faisal on a permanent deal at the beginning of this season and has played major role in all three wins after assisting in his side’s first week win over WAFA, grabbing a brace in week two against the Aduana Stars before sealing the winner over Ashanti Gold in Kumasi. His form together with help from his teammates can push King Faisal on the table.

Not only has Ibrahim Osman make good claim about King Faisal, he has meanwhile set his eyes on individual achievement, targeting 15 goals at the end of the season. In the Ghana Premier League, he has scored three goals from three games and has 12 more goals to add.

“As a player, I’m targeting the third position (on the Ghana Premier League table), and I’m hoping to score 15 or more goals this season to help King Faisal secure that position.”
