Eibar 0-3 Barcelona, as it happened

Barcelona are temporarily top of the league after picking up three points in Saturday’s early kick-off at Eibar.

It was a confident showing from the blaugrana, who only really looked in trouble for the opening few minutes. From then on, it was full steam ahead, with each of the front three getting on the scoresheet.

But there were no individual heroes today. This was an all-round stellar team performance. Samuel Umititi was astounding at the back, returning from injury as if he was never away, and Frenkie de Jong was so good that the Ipurura fans offered him an ovation when he was replaced towards the end.

Barcelona took the lead  just 13 minutes into the game through Griezmann after he was sent through on goal down the left flank. The French International carry the ball some distance before entering into his opponents penalty box, he then finished the ball off below Marko Dmitrović.

Messi scored Barca’s second goal on the 58th minute. Griezmann this time turns the provider by sending a back heel pass to Messi inside Eibar penalty box, the Argentine calmly planted the ball into the net.

Eight minutes later, Luis Suarez completed Barcelona’s three-goal riot over Eibar. Messi went through one-on-one with Dmitrović, he found Suarez on his left hand, the Uruguayan scored in virtually an empty net.

Barcelona are now on top of the Laliga tabla but only on temporary basis as Real Madrid travel to Mallorca later today. A win for Madrid will bring them back on top of the league log.
