Hearts of Oak lift 2018-2019 Homowo cup after seeing off Great Olympics 3-1 on penalties in the second leg of the Homowo cup. There was a good news for Hearts fan, Abdul Umar Manaf who was sideline due to injury for a month now returned to the starting lineup against Olympics.

The game ended 1-1 within 90 minutes. Hearts took the lead through Michelle Sarpong who scored from a long range on the 70th minutes. Two minutes later, Olympics equalized through Iddrisu Saler.

In the penalties, Hearts keeper Richmond Ayi was the hero of the afternoon as he saved three of four kicks by Olympics including that of Ali and Emmanuel Amertey. However, Maxwell Quaye converted for Olympics before Kofi Kodzi, Abubakar Traore and Christopher Bonney scored their kicks for Hearts.

This win marks a needed bounce-back for Kim Grant’s men after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Nigerian side Sahel SC at their training grounds two weeks ago. This title is Heart’s fourth Homowo title in the history of the Cup.
