Kotoko boosted ahead of Season’s decider as Star man Gyamfi set to be available against Hearts of Oak

Asante Kotoko deputy captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi, will be available for his side crucial encounter against Hearts of Oak despite being dragged to the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] for misconduct.

The Porcupine Warriors will be hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium in the matchday 31 games.

The much-anticipated fixture has been touted as the decider of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season with both sides having the same points after 29 matches played.

However, there were fears that Gyamfi would be suspended for the game after he was dragged to the Disciplinary Committee for deliberately stepping on the foot of Inter Allies midfielder Andy Okpe, an incident that was missed by match officials but captured by television images in a match Kotoko won 3-2.

Asante Kotoko requested for personal hearing on the matter and with the Disciplinary Committee’s next convention date scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, 202, no determination of the Gyamfi matter is expected before then, practically making him eligible to play against the Phobians in Accra.

Gyamfi has been a key player for the Kumasi based club in the second round of the Ghana Premier League under Portuguese tactician Mariano Barreto, scoring four goals and assisting on four others.

Hearts of Oak and Kotoko are level on points at the top of the Ghana Premier League with 5 games to the end of the season.

Kotoko host Karela FC on Wednesday and Hearts of Oak play Legon Cities on Thursday before the sworn-rivals clash on Sunday.
