Ghana Premier League 2022-2023 season start date announced
Asante Kotoko will be defending their Ghana Premier League title when the new season (2022-2023) start in September 2022, two months to FIFA World Cup.
The Reds dominated the 2021-2022 league season after winning the title with 67 points 11 more off second placed side Medeama Sporting Club.

They have three months to prepare for next term as the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League will kick off on the weekend of Friday, September 9 to Monday, September 12, 2022 across all nine Premier League centers.
This follows approval of the plan for the 2022-23 football season by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
An earlier release has September 4, 2022 as the date for the Champion of Champions- Ghana Premier League winners and FA Cup champions- to be honored ahead of the new league season.
League fixtures for the upcoming season is schedule to be released by Tuesday, July 26, 2022 to enable clubs prepare adequately for the season.
It will be recalled that the dates for registration of players have already been communicated to Premier League clubs, Division One League clubs and the Women’s Premier League clubs.
It must be noted also that the calendar will make room for a break in November and December 2022 for FIFA World Cup in Qatar as required by FIFA for all qualified Member Associations.

By this release, the GFA wishes to inform all stakeholders to take note of the dates and act accordingly. Dates for the start of the Division One League and Women’s Premier League will be announced soon.
The current season has not ended with FA Cup final in hand on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Hearts of Oak take on Bechem United in Kumasi and the winner take a Caf Confederation Cup place- starting in some months time.
Hearts won both the league and FA Cup last season but have seen their Premier League title collected by fierce rivals Asante Kotoko. The Reds will play in the African Champions League and Hearts could play in the Confederation Cup of they beat Bechem United on Sunday.
