Ghana dealt HUGE BLOW ahead of Afcon Cameroon 2021 after Ajax reportedly unwilling to release injured Mohammed Kudus for tournament |

Milovan Rajevac has recently named his 30-man squad for Ghana ahead of next month’s Afcon in Cameroon and has even arranged preparations friendly against African champions Algeria.

Though few Ghanaians are not happy with Milo’s crop of players selected for the Afcon, many are satisfy with the Serbian’s call-up though two players will be dropped before the Afcon starts on 9th January.

Those will be dropped undoubtedly will not include Kudus Mohammed who has become undroppable since featuring for the Black Stars. With that said, Kudus would have been heading to Cameroon as Ghana take on Morocco in their opening game.

However, Ghana seem to be hit with a huge blow after Ajax reportedly making Kudus Afcon appearance chances doubtful.

It’s understood that Ajax Amsterdam wont risk releasing the Ghanaian International for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The European heavyweights are worried by the fitness of the midfielder who picked an injury while playing for the Black Stars in last World Cup qualifier against South Africa in Cape Coast.

The 21-year-old has battled a series of injuries since joining the club from FC Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2020.

And ahead of the Nations Cup in 2021, which could be his first, Ajax are not ready to release him according to reports in Ghana.

Mohammed Kudus was named in coach Milovan Rajevac’s 30-man squad despite being unfit.

GHANASoccernet.com had reported earlier that the midfielder will miss AFCON due to the injury concerns and it looks increasingly likely with Ajax current stance of the Ghana International.

Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag wants the player to stay and continue his rehabilitation as he hopes Kudus makes a return before the season ends.

Kudus has made only eight appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals.

However, Ghana officials are expected to make the necessary push to restore Kudus’ Afcon appearance chances.
