Zambia draw 4-4 with 10-women China In second Olympiac Women’s football as Barbara Banda scores second consecutive hat-trick

Zambia have managed to draw in their second Olympics Women’s football after ending a 4-4 tie with China in Tokyo.

The African side came from behind to lead 4-3 in the second half but lost their grip in stoppage time after Shuang finally leveled for China.

Zambia and China were hammered in the opening day  as Holland run away with a 10-3 victory over the Female Chipolopolo but the Africans had a record to boost of after Barbara Banda grabbed a hat-trick to become the first ever African female player to score a hat-trick at the Olympics.

Chine were also thrashed 5-0 by Brazil.

Banda has made another headline today scoring her second consecutive hat-trick against China this morning. She was not the only woman who made name as China’s Wang Shuang also go home with a quadruple.

Shuang opened the scoring after 6’ minutes but Racheal Kundanaji pulled the leveler nine minutes later. However, Shuang restored and gave the Asian representatives 3-1 lead after 23’ minutes.

Zambia fought back through Banda who scored her first goal in today’s game from a penalty when it was 2 minutes to end the first half.

A minute into the second have, she drew parity before giving Zambia the lead first time in the game after 69 minutes.

Shaung completed her quadruple from a penalty that got China on same page with the African side six minutes to full time. Two minutes after China’s equalizer, they were reduced to 10-women after Li Qingtong was shown a straight red card.

Today’s draw leaves Zambia and China on third place of Group F table with a points each. Zambia will face Brazil in last Group games.
