Richard Boadu to Asante Kotoko confirmed by Medeama SC until 2025

Asante Kotoko signing of Richard Boadu has been confirmed by player’s club Medeama SC on Friday evening.

The Ghana Premier League side add the midfielder to Samuel Boateng, Clinton Opoku, Richmond Lamptey and Maxwell Agyemang as the Kotoko eye further signings.

The two clubs have agreed on a fee reported to be around $25,000 (Gh¢150,000) for the transfer of the midfielder.

Richard Boadu is expected to sign a four year deal until 2025 in the coming days before the his official unveiling.

He was outstanding for the Yellow and Mauves lads even during the absence of Justice Blay, having cemented the holding role.
The midfielder had been linked with a move to Kotoko since last season but Medeama’s asking price was a major stumbling block.
Kotoko opened the attempt to bring in Boadu at the end of last season however, the player’s entourage were confident of a deal from European country and relegated Kotoko’s interest to the background.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian International returned to Ghana few days ago after his move to Serbian SuperLiga giants FK Partizan Belgrade collapsed in later stage.
With Medeama anticipating the chances of reduced demand for Boadu, the Tarkwa based side softened their stance before Kotoko could finally had their Gh¢150,000 accepted.
Boadu made 24 league appearances, scoring a goal which came against Asante Kotoko in their Ghana Premier League match-week 21 in the just ended campaign.
Another deal for Boadu’s teammate Justice Blay is also verging close to completion after Medeama reportedly agreeing to accept Kotoko’s offer for Blay.
Medeama have asked Blay to negotiate with Kotoko for his personal terms and a deal could be announced next week before the team travel to Cape Coast for pre-season.
