Asante Kotoko reportedly agree personal terms with Cameroonian striker Adolf Ekembe

Asante Kotoko closes in on signing Adolf Ekembe after agreeing personal terms with the Cameroonian attacker, according to reports.

The Ghana Premier League giants will have a review of last season’s campaign on Monday before any further official proceedings could be made.

However. with specific to transfers, business has already begun due to limited time for submission of squad to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for this year’s Caf Champions League.

Kotoko will see both sides of the transfer with as many as ten first team players expected to leave this summer. The likes of Kwame Baah, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Samuel Appiah, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, Evans Adomako and Dickson Afoakwa could depart due to a surplus to requirements reason.

Left-back Imoro Ibrahim, Abdul Ganiyu, Mudasiru Salifu and Mbella Etouga could be sold bought for greener pastures.

For incomings, Kotoko’s glory in the Ghana Premier League has attracted them with prospective wholesale names. Former EPL star Asamoah Gyan, ex Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Mauritanian superstar Hemeya Tanji, Tiago Azulao and Yaw Annor are on the shopping list.

Ghanaian International Yaw Annor is expected to join Kotoko in a separate move regardless of Mbella Etouga’s future at Asante Kotoko. However, Tanji and Azulao are tipped as Mbella’s replacement but deal for any of them could be relegated to the background due to a move to Arab world for the former and age for the latter.

With the two deals unlikely, Asante Kotoko are understood to task Mbella’s agent to find them the attacker’s replacement. And the agent Amadou Fontem Tigana has get things underway after convincing Adolf Ekembe to join Kotoko.

Ekembe has been the new show-boy at AS Fortuna since the departure of Mbella to the Ghana Premier League last season. Ekembe has netted 16 goals for his club to emerge as top scorer in the Cameroonian Elite One league.

It’s evident that Ekembe will leave AS Fortuna this season where his contract expires in June 2022 with no signs of renewal.

The 22-year old’s exploit has earned him several interest heading into the summer transfer window with Raja Casablanca, AS Vita Club and Yanga also reportedly to have shown interest in the Cameroonian International.

But Kotoko may have sealed a deal for Ekembe after Mbella’s agent speaking directly to the attacker about Kotoko’s move. Kotoko have been speaking with Ekembe over the last seven days.

Talks have gone far as Ekembe has agreed to play for the Ghana Premier League champions, Futball Surgery can confirm that. Ekembe has agreed personal terms with the Ghanaian top flight, and will sign a three year deal.

The forward has had stints with American club Las Vegas Lights FC, Dragon Club, Colombe Sport and others.
