FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: Ghana U-17 Women’s National team coach Baba Nuhu announces 18-man squad to face Liberia in World Cup qualifier

Ghana U-17 Women’s National team begin their 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers with a demanding clash against Liberia which the first leg is designated to place in Monrovia on Sunday 1st March 2020.

Ahead of the first leg tie, Black Maidens head coach Baba Nuhu has announced 18-man squad to make a trip to Liberia’s capital to face the U-17 Women’s team of Liberia as the Maidens are poised to make a cut to the tournament proper in India November.

Unsurprisingly, Ghana Women’s Premier League leading scorer, Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah of Ampem Darkoa ladies earn expected call up together with Police Ladies’ Pacey winger, Grace Animah and Bassira Alhassan of Pearl Pia ladies who are all part of the Black Maidens squad. The team will depart Accra on Friday.

With only 248 days to go until the action gets underway, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Navi Mumbai have been confirmed as the five host cities for the tournament. Sixteen teams featuring the rising stars of women’s football will compete across 32 matches to lift the coveted trophy in Navi Mumbai on 21 November.
