“It was a dream come true” – Abdul Fatawu Issahaku after Tottenham Hotspur draw

Ghana and Sporting CP youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku feels very elated for yet another UEFA Champions League appearance last Wednesday night against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Londoners were held by the Green and Whites to a thrilling 1-1 stalemate at home in a very crunchy tie in match-day 5 of the biggest club football competition.

The homesters had to rely on Rodrygo Bentacur’s late equalizer on the 80th minute after Marcus Edwards had already put the visitors in front in the first half.
The 18 year old was once again handed a feel of the champions night after being introduced in the game on the 71st minute to replace their goal scorer.
After another Champions League experience, the former Black Starlets captain expressed excitement and described the moment as a dream come true for him and hopes to offer more going forward. He said in a post-game interview.
“Actually, this game was a big one and I’m so happy to be part. It was a dream for me and actually it came true so and I was really happy and ready to play.”
“Gradually my development has been very good. With coach, the team and everything. I’m very happy with my development at the club.”
He is hoping to make more appearances subsequently at both their first and second team, having been adjudged man of the match last week in Sporting CP B’s victory over Belenenses in the Portuguese youth league.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku who has been a constant Black Stars member recently, will hope to make the final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Qatar late next month.
