OFFICIAL: Inter Milan announce the signing of Christian Eriksen from Tottenham until 2024

Inter Milan have announced the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen on today Tuesday afternoon.

Eriksen would have seen his contract at Tottenham expire at the end of the season but failed to reach extension which together he would have walked away a free man from the London side.

Many clubs including Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Inter Milan were chasing for Eriksen’s signature but Inter Milan have won the race as Tottenham have cash in on Eriksen rather than to see him leave as a free agent in summer.

The Danish travelled to Italy on Monday for his medicals and succeeded in putting pen to paper on his new contract through until June 2024, which is believed to be worth around £6.5m per season plus bonuses.

After securing his move to Inter, Eriksen said: ‘I couldn’t wait to get there, being here is beautiful and I’m happy to be a new Inter player’, he told InterTV.

‘I am very excited and I can’t wait to get to know the fans, I have already had the opportunity to feel their warmth, it was a fantastic welcome. I feel great.

‘Honestly I’m not one who cares a lot about numbers but I know that people like them and testify that I did a lot well in England.

‘Now the time has come to take on a new challenge, I am very happy to be able to play in Serie A and with a great club like Inter, it is a fantastic club.’

Eriksen’s signing means five players in totality have now arrived at Inter Mialn from the Premier League since Conte took charge with Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Victor Moses, Ashley Young and the latest Erikson forming the EPL bound at Inter.

Inter lost ground in the Serie A title race on Sunday, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari.

But after Juventus’ surprise defeat away to Napoli, Conte and his players sit three points off their rivals and will hope the arrival of Eriksen can give them the edge.
