Asante Kotoko vs Great Olympics confirmed lineups as Prosper Narteh names unchanged side Mfegue, Mbella and Afoakwa lead attack

Asante Kotoko are hoping to continue with their 8-game unbeaten run as the welcome Great Olympics to the Baba Yara Stadium Friday.

Boss Prosper Narteh Ogum has named a strong unchanged XI from the side that defeated Medeama 1-0 at Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.

Richard Boadu who missed Sunday’s victory over the Tarkwa based side due to suspension was expected to return to the starting lineup but he has been dropped living the position for Sheriff Mohammed in defensive role.

New signing Justice Blay, who is ineligible to play for Asante Kotoko until from 1st February onward, misses today’s clash against Great Olympics. The midfielder has not been registered under Kotoko’s name for the second round. Registration period opens February where Kotoko can register him.

Ibrahim Danlad who has been regular since win at Aduana Stars keeps the post this afternoon while Augustine Agyapong, Yussif Mubarik, Abdul Ganiyu and Imoro Ibrahim who is second most assist Kotoko player complete the back line.

With Richard Boadu failing to return to the starting XI, Prosper Narteh Sheriff Mohammed in a preferred three man midfield as Richard Lamptey and Mudasiru Salifu named along Sheriff.

George Mfegue and Mbella who together have involved 16 times in Kotoko goal scoring lead the attack with support from Dickson Afoakwa. Mfegue has scored 4 goals and 6 assists while Mbella has found back of the net 6 times.

For Great Olympics, Annor Walker maintains Stephen Kwaku in posts as the likes of Abdul Bashiru, Solomon Adomako, Grippman, Asamoah and Maxwell Guaye start. Kotoko would have to keep serious eyes on Maxwell Guaye who is Olympics’ dangerous man.
