Ghana football hit another remarkable milestone after German Bundesliga side Broussia Dortmund touring in June

Ghana football embraces another milestone following its qualification to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup taking place in November. This time, milestone walks through club football, and in more friendly and exhibition showpiece in June five months before World Cup kickoff.

The German Bundesliga will have profound root into the Ghanaian football soil having most Ghanaian Internationals featured for the European top side. Currently, Black Stars interim boss Otto Addo is airing as football scout for Broussia Dortmund and may welcome their legends to Ghana in two months time.

That is, his club Broussia Dortmund will be arriving in Ghana for a tour June this year. After guiding the Black Stars of Ghana to the FIFA World Cup, Addo returned to continue his scouting and coaching role at Dortmund. The Ghanaian International is currently with Dortmund and is ‘expected’ to join the German side to his country.

Dortmund made announcement of their coming to Ghana through Chief Marketing Officer, Carsten Cramer. The exercise will see Ghanaian Second Division side Shooting Stars FC host Borussia Dortmund legends.

Despite Shooting Stars FC being the hosts of the Germans’ trip to Ghana, Dortmund legends will play against an African Legend side instead, on June 11, 2022, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The headline game of five days of activities involving the German side will be graced by the likes of African football great and former UEFA Champions League winner, Abedi Ayew Pele; Dortmund’s Top-talent Trainer and Black Stars’ coach, Otto Addo, former Wolfsburg captain Charles K. Akonnor, former Dortmund Champions League winner, Ibrahim Tanko and other football icons such as Jay-Jay Okocha, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Stephen Appiah, Asamoah Gyan and a host of other African Legends.

Shooting Stars FC will also engage an as yet to be named select side in a curtain-raiser for the Dortmund Legends versus African Legends game.

Advance sale of tickets to the Legends Match will start on May 7, 2022.

Other events that will be graced by the Dortmund team include a Youth Development Coaching Clinic, a visit to Chance for Children’s home and a Gala Dinner on June 9, 2022.

The team will also take part in a golf tournament on June 12, 2022.

For the CEO of Shooting Stars, Randolph Rodrigues, the partnership between Shooting Stars and Borussia Dortmund would yield tremendous benefit on and off the field.

The match has the backing of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ghana Football Association, and the Ghana League Clubs Association.

Dortmund could be making the trip to Ghana with the likes of Lars Ricken, Karl-Heinz Riedle, Márcio Amoroso, Jan Koller, Dede and Stephane Chapuisat.
