CONFIRMED: Arsenal announce Pablo Mari signing on loan from Flamengo
Arsenal had long been in negotiations with Flamengo for the signing of Pablo Mari, and have now confirmed Mari as their new signing but only on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
A statement release on Arsenal official site reads, ‘Spanish defender Pablo Mari is set to join us on loan until the end of the season.
“The 26 year-old joins us from Brazilian side Flamengo, where he helped the Rio de Janeiro based team win the Brazilian Serie A title and the Copa Libertadores last year, as per quotes of www.arsenal.com.
Mari started his football career at Spanish side RCD Mallorca, where he made his La Liga debut at the age of just 17.
Three years later in 2013 Mari joined another Spanish side Gimnastic, where he made nearly 100 appearances in his three seasons with the Catalonian club.
He moved to Manchester City in 2016 before he was loaned out to Girona for the 2016/17 season, then to the Netherlands with NAC Breda in 2017/18 and to Deportivo La Coruna in the 2018-2020 season.
Arsenal have the option to make the deal permanent in summer.
