2021 FIFA Club World Cup date announced with draw when to take place as Al Ahly to learn opponents

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are among the teams in the mix for the crown of the world’s top club.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) hosts the latest edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, with the competition now scheduled to be played in 2022 instead of 2021.

Teams from across all continents will take part, with the best of UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, AFC, CAF and OFC competing for the crown of global champion.

In a statement they made, FIFA announced the starting date of the Club World Cup taking place in the United Arab Emirates next February.

FIFA issued an official statement declaring the Club World Cup will run from the 3rd to the 12th of February 2022.

The draw for the competition is scheduled to take place at 6:00 pm today in Zurich, Switzerland.

As CAF Champions League title-holders, Al Ahly will be competing for the FIFA Club World Cup title. However, the tournament won’t be an easy one, as they will be clashing with other football giants like Chelsea, Palmeiras, and Saudi side Al Hilal.

The Red Devils’ will join the tournament for the second year in a row, their latest participation was one of their best as they claimed bronze medals for the second time in their history after beating Brazilian powerhouse Palmeiras.

As they play in their seventh FIFA Club World Cup, Al Ahly are now the second most participating team in the history of the competition, behind New Zealand’s Auckland City who have ten participations under their belt.

It is noteworthy that the Africa Cup of Nations will be taking place from the ninth of January to the sixth of February, and there could be a conflict between the two competitions as the international players might not be able to represent the Red team in UAE.
