Mamelodi Sundowns announce signing of Rushine De Reuck from Maritzburg United

Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the signing of Rushine De Reuck from Maritzburg United after announcing a deal for the South African International on Saturday morning.

The Premier Soccer League champions have been into contact with De Reuck for time now after the defender impressing in his Maritzburg career.

“Mamelodi Sundowns are happy to announce that we have secured the services of 24-year old Rushine De Reuck”, Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed on their official website.

“The Cape Town-born defender joins Masandawana from Maritzburg United and has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.”

The excited defender spoke about his hopes to hit the ground running: “This is something I’ve always wanted for myself. Sundowns has been the best club in South Africa for a long time and I want to be part of that. I am really really excited!” said Rushine.

“De Reuck will be reunited with two former teammates upon joining The Brazilians, having played with both Lebohang Maboe and Brian Onyango during his time at the Team of Choice.”

The 25-year old joined Maritzburg United from Hellenic in 2016 and has ever since been a household name in the Pietermaritzburg based side making over 100 appearances across all competition.

He has been linked with a move to Orlando Pirates at the beginning of last season but the Bucs failed to land their target though there was interest from the Brazilians and reportedly Kaizer Chiefs.

With Sundowns aiming to strengthen the defense line for their competitions this season, the Brazilian needed the utilize the second transfer window to get the transfer ambitions done.

They reached agreement with De Reuck this week before getting the versatile defender to sign a 5-year deal at Tshwane.
