Kwadwo Obeng Jr. only goal hands Hearts of Oak win over King Faisal
A first half superb strike from Kwadwo Obeng Junior secured Hearts of Oak an important home win over King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak managed to record a 1-0 victory over King Faisal FC in their Ghana Premier League match-week 15 clash on Sunday afternoon.
In the second half, Hearts of Oak upfront kept knocking for more goals as Kwadwo Obeng Junior came closed once again with an audacious strike but his effort went off target.
A minute after the hour-mark, King Faisal had a golden opportunity to level the score through Mawuli Wayo but he blasted it wide as a strike from Osman Ibrahim was saved by Ayi on the 63rd minute.
Hearts of Oak made two tactical substitutions as Gladson Awako and Kofi Kordzi were introduced as replacement for Amankwah Baafi and Enock Asubonteng respectively.
Kofi Kordzi’s first touch of the ball nearly gave Hearts of Oak the second goal but his strike was cleared to corner-kick by Puis Baffour.
On the 67th minute, Salim Adams missed a golden opportunity after goalkeeper Frank Boateng had failed to deal with a corner-kick effected by William Dankyi.
King Faisal failed to level the score despite their amazing display in the last ten minutes of the game as it ended in a 1-0 win in favor of Hearts of Oak.
