Asante Kotoko planning deadline day transfer for Medeama SC star Justice Blay

Ghana Premier League outfits are planning to lure Justice Blay on transfer deadline day according to latest reports.

Blay just ended his season-long move with Kotoko and has returned to parent club Medeama Sporting Club ahead of next season- that starts next month.

The record 23-time Ghana Premier League outfit have failed to agree a permanent deal for Blay and Kotoko now look forward to complete a deadline day move for the defensive midfielder.

The Ghanaian transfer window closes on tomorrow Saturday October 31 but Kotoko may attempt to add Blay to their ranks of new signings.

The Ghanaian giants have already completed deals for Emmanuel Keyekeh, Latif Anabila, Patrick Asmah, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Yussif Mubarik, Razak Abelora, Fabio Gama and Evans Adomako.

But with Blay pulling a string of impressive performances during his loan spell at Kotoko, the Kumasi based can’t stop pursuing the 28-year old.

Since ending of Blay’s loan move, Kotoko have attempted after drawing Medeama to the negotiation table on numerous occasions to sign the Ghanaian International but have failed to have a breakthrough on Blay’s transfer.

Medeama are understood to slap around GHC 200,000 price tag on Blay but Kotoko are reportedly view the transfer  GHC 80,00 as accurate measurement.

With transfer deadline day business on Blay in sight, Kotoko would improve their offer with last-minute attempt to land Blay before the transfer window closes on Saturday.

Kotoko signed Keyekeh as Blay’s replacement but boss Maxwell Konadu still believes the latest two midfielders can play together in a single game at Kotoko.

That’s in a bid to reap good campaign in Kotoko’s CAF Champions League season. Blay’s current deal expires in 2022 and Medeama have been resolute on the player’s future where the former MTN champions could offer a new contract extension or sell to PSL clubs.

Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have shown interest in Blay but Pirates look favorites to land the Ghanaian International.

Sundowns and Chiefs have already inquired about the Ghanaian’s signature but with Amakhosi facing a FIFA transfer ban and Pitso Mosimane’s departure from Downs potentially throw Blay’s transfer to Pirates into sharper focus.

As it stands, Pirates have not made their interest in Blay official and could face stiffer competition from Maritzburg United.
