Gideon Mensah to escape quarantine at Bordeaux after Ghana’s World Cup Qualifiers against Zimbabwe
Ghana defender Gideon Mensah will not quarantine when he returns from international duty according to reports.
Gideon Mensah has been handed a call up by Ghana boss Milovan Rejavac as Black Stars face Zimbabwe in FIFA World Cup double header this weekend.
Once helping the West African country, the defender will be free from the routine quarantine upon arrival from France’s red countries list.
That’s due to the defender receiving the last shot of covid-19 vaccine claim by Bordeaux manager Vladimir Petković.
The Girondins Bordeaux left back has received the double dose of vaccination which allows him to walk right into the French Ligue 1 outfit after representing Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers next week.
The on-loan Red Bull Salzburg player missed two games after playing for Ghana against South Africa last month.
It’s understood that his second dose was taken just few days ago and should be free from quarantine during the two weeks’ time he will be away from the French club.
“There will be no problem, they (Mensah, Edson Mexer and Samuel Kalu have received the vaccine doses. After the second dose, there are two to three weeks of waiting, but by the time they come back, they will be ready to play,” said Bordeaux manager Vladimir Petković.
