Arsenal and Tottenham to battle for Ghana World Cup star Kudus Mohammed in summer transfer

Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in a move for Ajax attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus who is enjoying life at Qatar FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars of Ghana.

In the last summer, Kudus nearly departed Ajax for Everton but a deal to the Premier League outfit in August’s transfer deadline day failed to materialize.

What prompted Kudus’ potential exit from Ajax was largely poor form but the Ghanaian International fought for a false 9 position to reclaim his reputation after scoring 4 goals in 6 UEFA Champions League games including the one against Liverpool at Anfield though Ajax lost 2-1 in the clash.

Heading into Qatar 2022 World Cup, Kudus was one of Ajax’s most brightest talents and for country Ghana as national hopes were placed very high on the 23-year old with little doubt the midfielder will attract interest if he performs well in Qatar.

Kudus Mohammed has so far gotten a better tournament in Qatar emerging as arguably one of the best players in the World Cup. He provided an assist in Ghana’s 2-3 loss to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in Group H opener.

And his brace against South Korea with his second goal giving the Black Stars 3-2 win over the Asians has excelled Kudus in the World Cup with though a host of clubs interested in the Ghanaian attacker but Arsenal and Tottenham are the prime destinations according to reports.

Arsenal are said to be favourites over their London rivals who battled Everton for the Ghanaian’s signature last summer and will do same against Arsenal at the end of the season.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Kudus Mohammed and Tottenham officials are said to be willing to work with the Ghanaian International at the London Stadium next season.

Kudus who has 3 years contract at Ajax is willing to leave the Yohan Cruyff Arena at the end of the current campaign offering Arsenal and Tottenham the best chance lure the midfielder to the Premier League in summer.

Ghana take on Uruguay in final Group H game and a win will send Otto Addo’s side to the round of 16 of the Qatar World Cup with a prospect of meeting Tite’s Brazil.

Kudus is expected to be named in the starting lineup and even score against the South American side. If Kudus scores he will join the likes of Marcus Rashford and Cody Gakpo in the top scorers list.
