Berko has a vast experience in the second tier of German football, making him a great addition to SVS.

“After the departure of Christian Conteh, we have now signed Erich Berko, an experienced second division winger who closes this gap. That was the goal,” explains Sandhausen coach Alois Schwartz.

SVS Sporting Director Mikayil Kabaca also spoke about the qualities of the Ghanaian stalwart.

“After restructuring the squad, we were still looking for a player on offense who could help us directly in the current situation. Erich knows the second division very well from the past few years and also knows from his stations in Dresden and Darmstadt which virtues are in demand in the relegation battle.”

SVS has introduced eight access this winter with Berko been handed the number 11 jersey.
