Jeffrey Schlupp second half goal rescues Crystal Palace from Leicester City defeat in 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park

Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp climbed off the bench to rescue Crystal Palace from home defeat to Leicester City in the English Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Leicester threw away a two-goal lead as Crystal Palace came from behind to draw with the Foxes at Selhurst Park.

After going into the break 2-0 down, teenage substitute Michael Olise pulled a goal back for Palace with a brilliant volley past Kasper Schmeichel.

Former Leicester player Jeffrey Schlupp added a second just 48 seconds after his introduction, heading past Schmeichel with only his second touch.

Brendan Rodgers’ side opened the scoring against the run of play when Kelechi Iheanacho capitalised on a mistake from Joachim Andersen before slotting past Vicente Guaita on 31 minutes.

Three Lion forward Jamie Vardy added a second six minutes later with a cool finish from Harvey Barnes’ assist.

The Eagles move to within a point of the Foxes and remain unbeaten at Selhurst Park under manager Patrick Vieira, while Leicester are now winless in four Premier League games.

Schlupp was introduced on the 71st minute of the game as replacement for Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher.

He has featured five times for Crystal Palace this season so far.
