“My parents are sad because I am not in the Black Stars team”- Ghana winger Edwin Gyasi reveals

Winger Edwin Gyasi has disclosed that his parents are disappointed that he is not in the current Black Stars team.

The Dutch-born switched allegiance to represent Ghana at the senior level, but his Black Stars career was short-lived after making only five appearances for the national team.

Although Gyasi is proud to have chosen Ghana over the country of his birth, he is hoping he could gatecrash the squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

“I played my 1st game for Ghana against Congo in the World Cup Qualifies and it felt really like home,” he told Kessben FM.

“My parents were so happy that I was wearing the Black Stars jersey representing Ghana but now they are sad because I’m not currently part of the team,” Gyasi added.

The 30-year-old plays for Beitar Jerusalem in Israel, but his contract with the Israeli outfit expires on June 30, 2022.

Gyasi was given his Black Stars debut by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, but has since struggled to make a return to the national team following the departure of the ex-Black Stars captain.
