German-born Ghanaian Patrick Pfeifer snubbed in Ghana latest call-up for Brazil and Nicaragua friendlies

German-born Ghanaian International Patrick Pfeifer has been omitted in Black Stars’ latest call-up for Brazil and Nicaragua friendlies late this month.

Ghana coach Otto Addo has excluded the Black Stars newbie Patrick Pfeifer from the 29-man squad list for the Brazil and Nicaragua friendlies later this month.

The German-born did not make the squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua despite recently committing to represent West African nation at the international level.

Pfeiffer, who was born in Germany and has captained Germany U19, switch his international allegiance to Ghana in June and expected to be called up for the crucial pre-World Cup friendlies this month.
However, the 23-year-old was not named to the 29-man squad announced on Tuesday, which is bad news for the central defender because it may jeopardize his chances of making the World Cup final squad.
The SV Darmstadt 98 guardsman is not among the ten defenders in the squad, an indication that he has yet to convince Ghana coach Otto Addo.
Pfeiffer has made five appearances this season in Germany’s second-tier league and scored one goal.
Ghana will play Brazil at Stade Oceane in Le Harve, France on Friday, September 23, 2022, before facing Nicaragua at Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Lorca, Spain on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
The Black Stars have been housed in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
