Kudus Mohammed bags hat-trick for Ajax reserve team as major boost for Ghana World Cup playoff against Nigeria

Ghana midfielder Kudus Mohammed scored three goals on Monday as Ajax reserve team won 6-3 against Den Haag in Eerste Divisie.

Mohammed was in top form scoring two in the first half and wrapped up the scoring in the second half. His second was from the spot.

He lasted the entire duration of the game.

The 21-year-old has scored five goals in two games for the reserve team having netted twice in his debut appearance last month.

Kudus was drafted into the reserve team to earn more minutes and boost his confidence after a long hiatus.

The Black Stars player, who was out of action for three months because of a fractured rib, is not being rushed by Ajax manager Erik ten Hag because he doesn’t want to lose Kudus to injury again.

Kudus has suffered five different injuries since joining Ajax and has missed a total of 41 games.

Kudus is expected to be included in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria after missing the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
