Doubtful Baba Rahman to recover in time for Nigeria clash

Reading defender Baba Rahman is set to make a quick return from injury and could be available for Ghana’s crucial World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

The Black Stars left-back has been out with an injury he suffered during Reading’s game against Preston North End last month.

Last week manager Paul Ince revealed the defender will be out for two to two weeks, which meant he will be missing Ghana’s game against Nigeria.

However, according to reports, Rahamn has started light training and could be fully cleared before the double header against the Super Eagles.

His return from injury is a huge boost for the Black Stars who will need a full strength team to beat their rivals and secure a place at this year’s World Cup.

Ghana will hosts the Super Eagles in Cape Coast on Friday, March 25 before travelling to Abuja in four days time for the second leg.

Rahman has been Ghana’s first choice left back and was a regular in the group stages of the qualifiers.

He is currently on loan at Reading from English giants Chelsea.
