Salernitana begins official talks with AS Roma for Ghana striker Felix Afena-Gyan
Salernitana has opened formal negotiations with AS Roma for Ghana striker Felix Afena-Gyan.
Salernitana and Roma discussed the possible transfer of the attacker before their Serie A meeting over the weekend. The talks were positive with Serie A newcomers confident of landing the youngster.
Bryan Cristante’s strike in the 33rd minute gave Roma a 1-0 victory.
The 19-year-old was unused by manager Jose Mourinho.
Afena-Gyan’s contract with AS Roma has been extended until June 2026, but Roma are looking to clear space in attack in order to sign Belotti, and Afena-Gyan is the player they want to trade.
The teen sensation had a breakthrough season last year, when he was promoted to the first team by Mourinho.
He made his debut against Cagliari in Serie A in November 2022, before scoring his first two goals in the victory over Genoa.
