Kudus Mohammed recovers to fitness while netting for Ajax reserves in victory over Almere City

The pre-season injury has kept the Ghanaian International on the sideline at both club and national team levels. But he returns to the pitch again after featuring for Ajax’s reserves against Almere City in Friday night football.

The midfielder missed Black Stars World Cup qualifying games against Ethiopia and South Africa this month after his absence was great felt in Ghana’s slim victory and loss.

While returning to fitness, Kudus made it from the Ajax reserves marking his return with career boosting element scoring on his return. He bagged a first half goal when Young Ajax traveled to beat Almere City in the Dutch lower tier Eerste Divisie.

The 21-year-old has missed the start of the Ajax Eredivisie season because of an injury sustained in pre-season game against Belgium side Anderlecht.

The former FC Nordsjaelland midfielder drew the reserves on level 9’ minutes after Lance Duijvestijn has given Almere City the lead.

Ajax forward Max De Waal scored a second half hat-trick before Wildeboer pulled one back for Almere City.

Kudus’ return comes a huge boost for Ajax manager Erik Ten Haag, who has the Ghanaian in his plans for the season.

Kudu played 45 minutes in the victory and was impressive on his comeback. Lance Duijvestijn gave Almere City the lead before Kudus leveled for Ajax.

Mohammed Kudus could make his season bow when Ajax travel to Fortuna Sittard on Tuesday.
