Ghanaian striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt makes Holstein Kiel debut three days after joining club

Ghanaian striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt played his first match for new club Holstein Kiel at the weekend.

Wriedt debuted in the 2-1 win against Jahn Regensburg in German Bundesliga on Sunday three days after signing for the club.

He has joined from Dutch top-flight side Willem II, and according to Sky Sports, Wriedt cost the second-tier club around 500,000 euros.

On Thursday, the attacker completed the medical check and then signed a contract until the summer of 2025.

Wriedt moved to the Netherlands in 2020 in search of regular first-team football after finding it difficult to break into the Bayern setup. Wriedt struggled to impress with 12 league goals in over 40 games.

Before leaving Germany, he emerged as the top scorer in the German third division with over 23 goals.
