Egypt’s Wadi Degla women win Egypt Cup to complete domestic double

Wadi Degla have clinched the 2022 Egyptian Women’s Cup after beating Maadi Sporting Club & Yacht in the final at the El-Tersana Stadium.

Just a few weeks ago, Wadi Degla’s women, led by Wael El-Sayed, had been crowned league champions for the 13th time in the club’s history after seeing off competition from El-Gouna.

The club then saw themselves coming up against a tough Maadi Sporting Club & Yacht side in the final of the Egypt Cup on Saturday.

Wadi Degla saw themselves victorious thanks to goals from Noha Mamdouh and Samar Adel, while Nour Gohar scored Maadi Sporting Club & Yacht’s only goal of the game.

The win took Wadi Degla to the seventh Egypt Cup title in their history as they set to prepare to take part in the UNAF qualification tournament for the Women’s CAF Champions League.
