Tottenham confirm £50million signing of Richarlison from Everton

After an already successful start to the summer transfer window, Tottenham welcome their fourth new signing of the summer, with Richarlison making the move from Everton.

Tottenham have confirmed their fourth summer signing of the transfer window, with Richarlison making the move from Everton. Spurs had been heavily linked with the Brazilian’s fellow countrymen Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha, but the 25-year-old has been the one to secure a deal.

Richarlison scored ten goals and registered five assists in 30 Premier League appearances last season, proving his quality and goal threat. This is exactly what Antonio Conte needs to add depth to his attacking options.

The Brazil international can play across the front three, boosting the 52-year-old’s squad with a player who is versatile. It has been understood that a £60million fee, including add-ons, was agreed on Wednesday night and Richarlison completed his medical abroad, on Thursday.

It’s believed that the Brazilian is available to fly out on Spurs’ pre-season tour to South Korea on July 9 after his holiday. Richarlison has been unveiled as the north Londoners’ fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Josh Keeley and Yves Bissouma.

And, former teammate Anthony Gordon has also been heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane this summer. It’s understood that Spurs have enquired about the 21-year-old winger as they look to boost their homegrown numbers.

It’s believed that the youngster would be keen on the move in order to play Champions League football under Conte, though Gordon would not ask to leave his hometown club. Everton fans’ anger over such a move for the England youth international could make it difficult for the club to agree to any sale.

Tottenham’s fruitful start to the summer transfer window follows Conte’s desire to cement a bright future. The Telegraph claim that the Italian boss wants as many as six arrivals this window; a centre-back, a right wing-back, two midfielders, a forward and a back-up goalkeeper.

The Spurs boss told Sky Sport Italia in February: “Four players left in January. Four important players for Tottenham, two have arrived. So even numerically instead of strengthening you may have, on paper, weakened.”

In April, though, the Italian boss appeared to dial things back a little, stressing the impact of the two new signings, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski. Conte said: “I said that with these two players, despite that we lost four players in January, with these two new signings we made this squad more complete, with more balance.

“I think that it’s very important in football to have a clear idea and to have a good vision. Because in this way, the situation is more simple.”
